Last summer, I severely sprained my ankle in a wakeboarding mishap. I ended up in a bandage and aircast brace and on crutches for several weeks. Because of this, I couldn't wear a regular shoe on my injured foot. We found these sandals in the store and found that they would fit with the bandage and brace. I ended up buying the brown ones as they matched the brown topsider I was wearing that day. I found that it also went with a brown dress shoe and a brown hiking shoe that I had. The sandal was very comfortable, all things considered, and provided some protection to my injured foot, especially if I had to put it on the ground. I also liked seeing my injured foot "dressed up" in a shoe instead of just being bare. The padded strap held the sandal securely on my injured foot while I was crutching. Since they were reasonably priced, I went back and picked up the black ones to wear with black dress shoes and a black athletic shoe. I ended up wearing these every day to work, and whenever I went out someplace while my ankle healed up. I even wore the black one to a wedding and reception with a black dress shoe on my good foot. It was surprising how many people noticed and made comments on them, particularly ladies. My wife repeatedly said how the sandal looked nice on my bandaged foot! Quite a few people complemented me for how I was dealing with the injury and not letting it slow me down. This was good as I ended up being on crutches and unable to wear anything else for over six weeks.

I ordered these sandals in Black not Brown! I even put a note to the consumer upon checkout from ebay to ensure they are black because the picture showed brown. Black was an available option I selected it for size 10 and you still sent me Brown?? Don't you read the messages from consumers before filling orders?? So I had to wear Brown sandals to an event and looked stupid!
